Post pregnancy weightloss (saga)

Ish! It's been almost 3 months since I started dieting again, and I'm still on the same place on the scale (I hope!) It's a bit of a roller coaster...I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning, and I'm expecting to see it at around 63kg's :-( Last weekend I had a jolly old time eating like crazy and it continued into this week. I had a goal of weighing 53kilos by the end of September...at this rate I won't make it. Plus I wanted to run 100min's on a half marathon by then, and the exercise is also lacking - it will take a miracle for me to make it by then!! In 3 weeks time our son will be going for swimming lessons (where he gets introduced to water); which means mamma has to fit into swim suit by then. If I look half decent, I'll be over the moon!! The good news here, is that in 3 weeks one can really make a difference if I give it my ALL!!!! Deep breath: so here goes!! Starting this very minute: I went for a 50min work-out at the gym (20min on the fitness flyer-just a warm up; 20min's vigorous running on the treadmill; and 10min cool down on the fitness flyer again). I'm busy with my 7th glass of water for the day. (Will do 8.) Dinner will be very little with NO alcohol. Let's see if I can do this!!

Weight loss challenge (after pregnancy)... So, I started a 3 week challenge (2 and a half weeks ago). I've got about 10kg's to shake since my pregnancy. More like 7kg's, but anycase... I took a before pic and will take one every 3rd Friday. The 1st week was terrible and I didn't at all focus on healthy food choices or excercising. Week 2 went 110% better!! I weighed 64.7kg's 2 weeks ago. And then after last week I weighed 61.7kg. I had on 30% body fat and last week was on 29%. This week went really well on the excercise front. Am bushed from spinning and running real hard! I ate horendously today though. Breakfast was oats, 1 teaspoon of peanutbutter and sweetner. I only had about 4 glasses of water during the day. I snacked on 2 provitas, an apple AND a rusk!!!! Lunch was a white bread roll AND a portion of pasta!!!! Dinner was 2 helpings of potatoe salad, a tjop, a piece of wors and a small chicken soesatie. Preceeded by 2 cocktail rolls and a glass of red wine!!!! Eeeeck!! (It gets worse...) After dinner I had coffee with 6 blocks of chocolate!!! :-) This morning I ran 6.4km's at a snails pace (6:18min/km). Will do better on ALL fronts tomorrow (got love the Tomorrow's!!)

Although day 2's not done yet (actually only got started), I feel it's a good start!! I'm gonna make a protien smoothie for breakfast, preceeded by some coffee. And just finishes an easy 10km run.
Plus, the coffee will be accompanied by some stretches and sit-ups!!

Lunch and dinner will be chicken salad.

Weighing in at 57.9kg's...
Well the USN 12 week challenge came and gone; and although at times I felt like I failed at the challenge-looking back now, I can say that I actually did pretty well...
My body fat melted away and my muscles could be seen-it felt amazing to actually SEE the muscles that I've been working for so long!!

So, the past 2 months I've done the eating plenty; and relaxing quit a bit-thing. But I miss my December body!
So here goes: 21 Days of hard work!!

I also just finished reading an article by Prof. Tim Noakes where he tested a no-carb diet, and "upping" his protien in-take.
And this is definitaly part my strategy.

Protien smoothie for breakfast;
Chicken salad for lunch; and
Chicken dish for dinner.

I'm gonna try and limit my alcohol intake.

And with my already full running program, get out to the gym 3 times a week for weight training.

Monday morning: 10km run; Monday afternoon: hill training
Tuesday morning: weight training; Tuesday afternoon: spinning/ Time Trial
Wednesday morning: 10km run
Thursday morning: weight training; Thursday afternoon: speed training
Friday morning: 10km run
Saturday monring: long run
Sunday evening: weight training

Well, cheers!!
Here't to that!!

See ya on the other side!!

Day 71

Day 71

Yes I failed, but I'm back on board again! Smaller goal first: to see if I can do one clean day...

Day 69 and 70

I've decided not to worry anymore...it's 2 weeks left of the challenge, and what ever I do won't make that big of a difference now. And this had put me in a whole new mind set, where I think lifestyle-wise, which choices are best... It's a good place to be, I feel... Saturday I ate pretty well and had a very relaxed 15km jog. But in the evening I had some champagne and cake and pastries. Sunday I ate very well again and had a hard weight-training session in the evening, but had a cider before lunch. I still feel good about myself and want to see how hard I can push myself in the clean-eating section... Like Carien Theron always says-gotta love Mondays, cause it's a new beginning! So, from Monday on, I'm gonna see how many consecutive days I can eat clean for! Because also I want to test another theory: a guy at the gym said he had lost 6% body fat in just 3weeks! Now I think it's impossible, but lets see if I can also do it: loose 4% body fat in 2weeks!
