Day 69 and 70

I've decided not to worry anymore...it's 2 weeks left of the challenge, and what ever I do won't make that big of a difference now. And this had put me in a whole new mind set, where I think lifestyle-wise, which choices are best... It's a good place to be, I feel... Saturday I ate pretty well and had a very relaxed 15km jog. But in the evening I had some champagne and cake and pastries. Sunday I ate very well again and had a hard weight-training session in the evening, but had a cider before lunch. I still feel good about myself and want to see how hard I can push myself in the clean-eating section... Like Carien Theron always says-gotta love Mondays, cause it's a new beginning! So, from Monday on, I'm gonna see how many consecutive days I can eat clean for! Because also I want to test another theory: a guy at the gym said he had lost 6% body fat in just 3weeks! Now I think it's impossible, but lets see if I can also do it: loose 4% body fat in 2weeks!

Day 68

Day 68

...And still going on (or at least trying). This has been looong!! Too long for me... You think 3months is gonna fly by - WRONG! It's nearly a hundred days!!! It flies by when you're doing here a bit and there a bit, but try being constant in one thing for a hundred days... It's almost making me nuts! So today was almost the same as yesterday: 90% perfect. I did 60 push-ups and 40 dips. (And almost keeled over and died!) Then had my breakfast smoothie. Morning snack was home-made hummus with 3 provitas. Lunch was chicken and sweet potatoe. Snack was the same as in the morning. Dinner was super late: 100g steak and salad. We were at an athletics function... I held up super well between the alcoholic beverages and snaaks. But then I got a prize made out of sweets, and I gobbledd it up in 2 seconds! And after dinner I let all resistance crumble with 3 chocolate brownie biscuits!

Day 67

Today has been better... I'm still not a hundred, but way better than the other days. I went to the gym and did weights - legs and abs. But my abs is lekker stiff tonight. Which is a great feeling, since I can't remember when last I felt stiff!! I had my breakfast smoothie for breakfast. 7 Oliver and 3 provitas for morning snack. Chicken and vege for lunch. Broccoli and 3 provitas again for afternoon snack. I was a bit tired and skipped the speed-session with our athletics club. And then dinner i messed up a bit. I made chicken wraps for dinner. I had one. But then I had the same topping on a slice of bread. Plus one block of chocolate... I comfort myself with the thought that at least it's much better than the previous days!!

Day 61 - 64

Day 61 - 64

Ja, it was rough... Had a royal eating spree up untill last night. The scale sommer says I picked up 3kg's... My only comment: I am going to work REALLY hard to work that and a bit more, off during this week!! So, today I started with about 20min's of weight-training. 3 sets of 15reps: 6 types of arm exercises, and one ab-exercise. I made my breakfast shake, as per usual. Morning snack was 3 provita's with an orange. Lunch was cooked pork roast, and sweet potatoe. Afternoon snack will be the same as this morning. With the athletics club, we'll be doing 10 x 90sec hills, tonight. And dinner will be more of the roast and broccoli.

Day 60

Another write-off. It's because my head is at two places at least. The winelands half marathon is tomorrow, so I didn't want to do too much or eat too little. And if there's no focus it makes a cheat so much easier! Yesterday I went for my annual health and fitness assessment. And the most upsetting part, was that my upper body fat is at 23%!!! Compared to atleast a 19%. I weigh 2kg's more also. That bit's not SO upsetting since I've been eating so badly this week. So after I left my assessment I went for a whole bag of biscuits, chips, fudge, chocolate... I think that was the lot. I skipped dinner and was actually nauseous - duh!! So starting afresh with clean eating and want to push it all to the max next week!! Not long anymore before this challenge is over... And I'm thinking, I'm gonna cheat with only one thing per day when I'm done here. And during the holiday I'll run 3 times a week... Need to start planning all of this!

Hello day 59!! I'm actually just happy to usher in day 60 and forget all about this day... Apart from my breakfast smoothie which I enjoy so much lately, and an awesome fast paced 10km run this morning, the day was horrible! Eating and otherwise! Day 60 just sounds like a clean slate!! Tomorrow I'm going to the biokinetisist for my annual evaluation. And I'm really looking forward to it! In the last 12months I've really improved in all the areas which were previously not so good, like my suppleness and body fat. And I won't be doing anything too strenuous this week, since it's Winelands half marathon on saturday. I really want to run well! Maybe even 1h45mins...we'll see... So I basically ate everything I could think of and at my disposal. Gotta move forward now. Good night day 59!!

And I'm currently busy cheating with a table spoon of peanut butter... Go figure-I'm a bit down and as my friend puts it - negative. But I feel negative. The reason being: I really can't see how my belly's ever gonna flatten out! Plus, I feel fat! It was a huge struggle but apart from my current cheat, it was a 100% clean eating day. I had my usual banana,milk and protien smoothie for breakfast. Diet fuel for snack. Chicken salad for lunch. Diet fuel for snack. 45min's Spinning class after work. And chicken pasta for dinner. I'm still negative. Going to bed now.

Day 57

Today was a struggle... The year is coming to an end and things are picking up speed. And when ever I can't cope, I normally turn to a great comfort...food. So I had to battle it out within myself and cope. But, at the end of the day it'll be worth it! The only down side was dinner...the weekly schedule of what our fridge should contain has been poorly miraclatlated, unfortunately by me...and dinner wasn't as clean as it could've been, had I planned my week food-wise a bit better... I went for a 7km jog this morning. Then had my skim milk, banana, protien and coco smoothie for breakfast. Snack was half a diet fuel shake (which I keep on refering to as a meal replacement shake). Lunch was half a chicken salad and a bit of steamed sweet potatoe. Snack was the other half of the Diet fuel shake. Then we joined the athletics club for some hill training, that was more of a speed work session with a minor hill in it! Short, but fun and I'm sure it was effective! Dinner was a bit of everything in my house... Wrap with avo, feta, cucumber, carrot and olive oil over it. Plus a table spoon of peanut butter, two cups of black herbal tea and two rusks. :-) Oh, and a few spoons full of sweet corn. Will plan better tomorrow!

Day 56

It was totally worth it all! Pain and suffering from not giving in to some yummies...all worth it!! So, I took my measurements this morning and I was 2cm's smaller everywhere apart from my abdoman. But that my challenge for this week...you're going down little old bump on my mid-section!!! My body fat and weight's also down, so I had a glass of wine and cherry before lunch in celebration. Breakfast was pronutro with skim milk and a scoop of protien powder. Snack was chillie bites. Lunch was way unhealthy but delicious cooking by my awesome husband! Chicken in sauce, rice, sweet-sweet potatoe and fried potatoes! Yum! Dinner was a chicken salad. Oh, and my evening snack was 2 rusks... I went to the gym for 45min's and did some ab and leg weights.

Day 55

I'm killing myself for having a piece of garlic roll... And it was only one little piece! But tomorrow is weigh-in day and I'm so fearful of it because I've worked super hard at it this week...and now I'm afraid it's not going to show on my measurements tomorrow :-( I'll have to console myself in the idea that if it doesn't show tomorrow, it'll definately show next week... Just like the reverse effect. So I went for a 15km jog with the club this morning. Had my protien-banana smoothie for breakfast. Shake for snack. Lunch was at a stork tea and I was super proud of myself-had salad and cheese. But half a glass of white wine also. Snack was a few spoons full of last night's pasta. And dinner was a chicken scewer with salad and also the horrible piece of garlic bread... And 1 and a half glasses of white wine. Ps. We were at a braai.

I'll see today as a cheat day... :-( Because it wasn't 100% clean... Same breakfast as yesterday. Also same snacks. Noodles for lunch. Small pasta and salad for dinner. And a hand full of chips and jelly babies before bed. Rest-no exercise.

Day 53

While the day was still tough, it is getting slightly easier again... And the clean eating is even better than ever before. I don't think I've eaten this clean at such a high percentage throughout the challenge, as I have in this last 4 days! Well, praise the Lord for that! Breakfast was, as a Usn eating plan recommends it: glass of skin milk, a frozen banana, coco powder and a scoop of protien powder-smoothie. And it tasted awesome! Morning snack, again as per recommendation, was only half a meal replacement shake (they recommend a full portion). Lunch was my own: wrap with avo, feta, lettuce, sweet chillie sauce and basil. Afternoon snack was the other half of the meal replacement shake. And dinner was my own again: chicken salad. I also started stretching the time between meals from every 2 hours to 2 and a half, to 2and 3-quarter of an hour between meals. Which did me well before dinner, as I wasn't as hungry as normal. Last night's speed session I worked like there was gonna be no tomorrow!! We did 5 x 400m sprints with 2min's rest between each. Then a 3min rest. And then 5 x 200m sprints with again 2min's rest in between every sprint. I was so exhausted afterwards! And my body still feels it... But hopefully all worth it!

Day 52

Day 52

And it went well - I mean, the result was a good clean eating day.
Not that was easy at all...although easier than yesturday.

I went for a 10km run with my partner - nice and easy one.
Then I had a banana, water and protien powder mix.
Breakfast was 3-quarter cup of oats with a teaspoon of peanutbutter (yum!)
Mid-morning snack was a green apple.
(Meanwhile thinking of cookies every hour or so.)
Lunch was a feta, avo, lettuce and basil wrap.
Afternoon snack was 2 rice cakes.
Dinner was chicken and vedge.

I also had 8 glasses of water during the day.
And went to the gym for 20min's of arm-weights and ab exercises.

I emailed USN and asked them about my eating plan...
The man was practically frantic and said I ate the wrong type of carbs and way too much fruit!!
He directed me to one of their meal plans...I'll start doing this from next week on, because there's too much food that'll be wasted in my fridge.

Day 51

Day 51

Good day, day 51! Hectic! And what a day! One which I'll hopefully never relive again... It started all wrong-a headache an pushed work and having to put out cookies for clients and making them yummy lunch (of which I can't eat cause it's not within my eating plan!). From the moment it started, it was horrible and trying! But praise the Lord, I survived and ate clean all the way!! I had toast with almond nut butter for breakfast. Apple for morning snack. Chicken salad for lunch. Half a shake (meal replacement shake, protien powder and L-glutamine), for afternoon snack. Then I went for a 45min spinning class. And 15mins weight training-abs and bum. Then the other half of my shake. Dinner was a bit late, but it was another chicken salad. I'm a bit light headed so I also had half apple juice mixed with water before getting into bed. Today I drank 3 coffees with milk and 8 glasses of water. Hopefully the fats melting away!!

So, today went well. But I still need to step it up more... I had a meal replacement shake for breakfast. An orange for morning snack. A feta and cucumber wrap for lunch. A banana for afternoon snack. We then did 9 x hill-sprints with the athletics club. And chicken-carrot-cabbage stirfry wrap for dinner. My throat is burning up and I hope I'll be all right...

Day 47-49

So I weighed in and the results unfortunately do speak for themselves... I'm up in every measurement... 2weeks of bad eating habbits coming together... This weekend I just felt like giving up on the whole challenge. I feel good in the way I look (not extatic, but fine). And am just so tired of having to be on the calculate the whole time of when I dat what... So I threw caution to the wind and just didn't care... I ate so much at the wedding on Saturday, that after I went to bed I woke up again because of the nausea... It felt like the food was sitting shallow in my throat! It was aweful!! So I know I did some serious health damage to my body as well as physical. Today is actually day 50 (and I'll report back on it tonight), but I'm not completely motivated yet. All I can say, is that there's hard work lying ahead this week. And even harder work in the remainder of this challenge... I want to see my body change!!

Day 46

Well so far today's been good...99% good. I read through Carien Theron's post today and I so agree with what she says and this for me is also the difference in this challenge compared to any old diet: you can't exercise away a cheat meal-you are what you eat! I know how to drop a kilogram if I need to, but muscle definition and body fat will only change, once I start eating clean for a long period of time. So I know I did some damage by my major cheat yesterday, but in the same breath, life is about getting up and moving forward. I'm in this challenge because I want to be and it's a temporary state-which'll take me from A to B. The cleaner my efforts, the bigger the difference will be on the other side. I wore hideous ski-pants out to a fancy dress dinner party last night and I rocked in them! So, right now I look great in tight fitting clothes. But the real proof lies in the way I look when I've got my bikini on... I still have major wobble on my thighs and butt. And that ever present jiggly wave that plagues my abdoman-area and so voluptuously rolls over my bikini-bottom! THAT is what it's all about... Sunday will there'll be only 5weeks left to this challenge... And I know I say it too often, but I gotta start pulling my socks up. And even more than that-I need to start giving more! Like this week is so busy that I haven't done any weight training... And this has to change...comes Sunday it's going to be me, the gym and L-glutamine!! So in my rush to work today (since we we're out so late, I slept late this morning) I had a wishy-washy day concerning food. (Prep is obviously key!) 3Rusks for breakfast. Apple for morning snack. Future Life shake for lunch. One rusk for afternoon snack. 7 Glasses of water so far. Will have the last one at home tonight, after our hectic track session tonight with the club. Where I'll have my orange juice mix and protien powder before and after. Dinner will be some sort of meat and salad.

Today was actually really good. And I feared our year end function. And rightly so. I went for a 10km jog this morning. My juice and protien powder mix before and after. And then Future guard berry shake for breakfast. Apple for snack. Chicken salad wrap for lunch. Apple again for a snack. And then loads of dinner and drinks... I started off well, but didn't end well. I might even skip the morning run... I'll see. Night all! Ps. I felt really good today cause I weighed 55kg's this morning... Will have to work it off again in the next two days... Hopefully I can do the same with the body fat!

Well, as with yesterday-I did myself proud!! Apart from the light drink I had after our monthly club run, it was a good clean day of eating! Breakfast was Future Life shake. Snack was an apple. Lunch was a chicken salad. Snack again an apple. And 45min's before our 4km Time Trial jumped, i had half a glass of orange juice mixed with one serving of protien powder. I also had this right after my run. (Plus the drink). I know I should've cut that though... Dinner was chicken-vedge-and egg noodles. Plus! I had 8 glasses of water today! Off to bed now... Ps. This morning the scale still haven't budged... Hopefully tomorrow... Night!
